In today’s financial institutions, Security Operations Centres have become one of the most critical components of cyber defence. Organisations invest heavily in people, technologies, Managed SOC services, processes, threat intelligence and automation. Yet, for many CISOs, an important question remains: how confident are we that our SOC will actually detect and respond effectively when it matters most?
The existence of a SOC, a 24×7 monitoring service, a SIEM platform or a Managed SOC provider does not, by itself, establish that confidence. A SOC must be governed effectively, possess the right capabilities, operate with maturity, deliver meaningful outcomes and be independently validated to demonstrate that it is performing as intended.
Manzil was created around this gap between having a SOC and having confidence in the SOC.
Our focus is deliberately centred on SOC Governance, Maturity and Assurance. We work with CISOs and financial institutions to understand the current state of their SOC, identify and prioritise capability gaps, guide improvement and independently validate whether the improvements have delivered the intended outcomes.
We recognise that every SOC is different. Some are built and operated internally. Others are delivered through Managed SOC or MSSP arrangements, while many operate through a hybrid model. Our role is not to replace the SOC team or the service provider. We partner with the CISO to provide an independent, practitioner-led perspective on whether the SOC is capable, effective and delivering what the organisation expects of it.
Our approach is grounded in real-world experience. Manzil was founded by Pascoal Andrade, who brings 30 years of experience across technology, cybersecurity and risk, including Banking, NBFCs, Insurance, Broking and Financial Services. His experience spans designing, building, operating, improving and transforming SOC capabilities, as well as working with Managed SOC models.
That experience shaped our belief that SOC governance should go beyond dashboards and SLAs, SOC maturity should go beyond the presence of processes, and SOC assurance should go beyond statements of capability. What ultimately matters is whether the SOC can perform when the organisation needs it most — and whether that performance can be demonstrated with evidence.
